Eric Kluitenberg
Curator, writer, theoretician and educator working at the intersection of art, culture, ecology, and technology
Since my student years I explored the relationship of the creative disciplines with the then emerging digital electronic media (1987-94) and the subsequent opening up of the internet to the general audience. Since 2010 my interest has shifted towards pressing ecological questions: In 2010 we investigated the crisis of hyper-mobility in the ElectroSmog festival across twenty time-zones. In the Techno-Ecologies project with RIXC in Riga in 2011/12 we asked how do technology and ecology interrelate as inescapable spheres of life? More recently I have become involved with the new organisational model of Zoöps (co-operations of all Zoë) developed by researcher Klaas Kuitenbrouwer. This resulted in the Zoöp DataFusion Art/Science research project with Nieuwe Instituut (Rotterdam, 2022), where the Zoöp model originated from.
Terrestris is the logical next step in this journey of discovery, where we aim to apply knowledge, skills, methods and experience coming from the domain of regenerative culture(s) to the mostly rural Green Heart region in The Netherlands (where we also live) and beyond.
Tania Goryucheva
Art historian, curator, writer and researcher.
As a researcher and curator, I explore and develop ideas and projects that seek to introduce new forms and practices with a transformative capacity. Throughout my career I have been focused on the subjects of cultural, social and technological innovation, interdisciplinary cooperation, citizens engagement and participation. The urgency of the widening ecological crisis prompted me to engage with the growing movement of critical and concerned but at the same time proactively constructive people who embrace regeneration as guiding principle of our relationships with the environment in our lives and practices. The initiation of the Terrestris platform is driven by the idea to provide space, support and broader outreach for regenerative cultural projects that have a strong ability to engage, educate and inspire more people to pursue an integral existence and co-creation with nature.
